BIRDWATCHING
IN THE PHILIPPINES
The Philippines is host to more than 600 species of birds,
200 of which are endemic.
The Philippine
Department of Tourism (PDOT) through the Philippine Convention
and Visitors Corporation (PCVC) and in partnership with the Recreational
Outdoor Exchange (ROX) and the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines
(WBCP) have embarked on an active campaign to promote birdwatching
to both Filipino and foreign wildlife enthusiasts.
This campaign
is envisioned to contribute to the environmental advocacy to
protect the remaining natural habitats and preserve the country's
biodiversity.
The promise
of birdwatching in the Philippines can be exciting and rewarding.
As one visits the birdwatching destinations, one will also be
exposed to the interesting sights, culture and unsurpassed hospitality
