The jeepney
is a proud symbol of Filipino folk culture. Brightly colored,
flamboyant and ingeniously decorated, jeepneys ply the routes
of city, town and country. The jeepney was reconstructed from
the vehicles left behind by American forces following Philippine
Liberation in 1945. Today, the jeepney is a glorious example
of Philippine folk.
