 KAMAYAN

Filipino food is best eaten using bare hands, with a banana leaf as plate. Kamayan is perfect for casual feasts, where friends dip into each other's food as lively talk turns to common concerns and views of the day. Kamayan gives that added relish to your food. An important tips to those adventurous enough to eat Kamayan style; wash your hands before and after eating!

Suggestions:

Theme Party:
* Kamayan can be theme by itself or can serve as the "mandatory" eating style in a Barrio Fiesta, Isla, Beach Bum or Palarong Pilipino theme party

Venues:
Kamayan is best:
* in a picnic hut in Tagaytay overlooking Taal Lake and volcano
* after an exhilirating ride down the Pagsanjan Rapids
* with your feet dipped in the cool falls of Villa Escudero
* up in the cool mountain air of Baguio
* In an island hideaway in Cebu, Bohol, Dakak, Iloilo, or Palawan
* Or simply by the beach or pool area

Entertainment:
* Rondalla or guitar trio

Gifts:
* Miniature spoon and fork in silver, brass or wood (to accentuate the contrast)
