PROFILE

Education and the power of knowledge are the pillars of progress advocated by the Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation (PCVC) Conventions and Incentive Travel (CIT) Unit and the Movement of Incentive Travel Executives (MITE).

In 1994, the PCVC and MITE embarked on a project that aimed to institutionalize their educational, developmental and networking goals into an annual forum. The Philippine Incentive Marketing Conference (Phil - Incentive) was then born.

Phil- Incentive is a conference on tourism marketing focusing on incentive marketing. It features foreign and local experts who speak on topics ranging from industry specifics to motivational topics and general marketing.

Phil - Incentive aims to professionalize the local incentive industry, provide a venue for fresh and innovative approaches to incentive marketing, provide continuing education on incentive marketing to industry practitioners, create awareness and educate corporate end-users on the value of incentive travel and provide opportunities for industry practitioners to showcase their abilities in creating incentive programs.

The Phil - Incentive Conference program includes Plenary and Break - out sessions. Plenary Sessions are power packed presentations that will open the eyes of the participants to a whole new meaning of learning. Break-out Sessions, on the other hand, involve specialized topics and specific issues related to incentive travel.

Target participants of Phil-Incentive are Middle to Top level Managers of Hotels, Resorts, Travel Agencies, Tour Operators, Destination Management Companies (DMC), Airlines, Trade Associations, Government Agencies, the Academe, Companies with incentive programs and other motivational tools, and media.

THE ORGANIZERS

THE PHILIPPINE CONVENTION & VISITORS CORPORATION (PCVC)

The Philippine Convention & Visitors Corporation (PCVC) is a non-stock, non-profit government corporation attached to the Department of Tourism, tasked with promoting the country as an ideal tourism, convention and incentive destination. Its Convention and Incentive Travel (CIT) Unit, in particular, provides comprehensive information, technical assistance and guidance to meeting planners and incentive travel organizers who seek an ideal venue for their meetings and incentive groups.

THE MOVEMENT OF INCENTIVE TRAVEL EXECUTIVES (MITE)

The Movement of Incentive Travel Executives (MITE) was born as an immediate consequence of the PCVC sponsored "Go for I.T." Seminar held in Manila in August 1991 in cooperation with the New York based Society of Incentive Travel Executives (SITE).

MITE's mission is "to use incentive travel as a business tool through the application of MITE's collective resources in developing educational programmes and other business activities that offer value to its members so as to aggressively sell the Philippines as quality incentive destination".

MITE represents the forerunners of incentive travel: hotels, tour and transport operators, resorts, airlines, marketing and creative specialists and selected media personalities.

MITE represents the seal of quality and commitment. Its members can deliver incentive travel programmes with creativity, imagination and professionalism.
