PROFILE
The MOVEMENT OF INCENTIVE TRAVEL
EXECUTIVES (MITE) was born as an immediate consequence
of the "Go for I.T." Seminar held in Manila last 29
- 30 August 1991 organized by the Philippine Convention &
Visitors Corporation (PCVC) in cooperation with the New York
based Society of Incentive Travel Executives (SITE).
MITE's mission is to use incentive travel as a business
tool through the application of MITE's collective resources
in developing educational programs and other business activities
that offer value to its members so as to aggressively sell the
Philippines as a quality incentive destination.
From an initial membership of sixteen, MITE has
grown to thirty six active members, representing the forerunners
of incentive travel: hotels, tour and transport operators, resorts,
airlines, marketing and creative specialists and selected media
personalities.
MITE represents the seal of quality and commitment.
Its members can deliver incentive travel programs with creativity,
imagination and professionalism.
In cooperation with the PCVC, MITE has institutionalized
two (2) major projects: the Meetings and Incentives Mart (MIM)
which is an annual invitational program for buyers and sellers
of Meetings and Incentives; and the Philippine Incentive Marketing
Conference (Phil-Incentive), a premiere educational event in
line with MITE and PCVC's objective to professionalize
the incentive travel industry.
MITE likewise undertakes training workshops in Cebu,
Bacolod, Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Boracay to upgrade the services
and standards of these destinations for leisure travel in preparation
for the incentive travel market.
MITE also spearheaded social civic projects like
the cleaning and greening of the Tramo District in Pasay since
it was identified as the key access road to and from the international
airport and the Manila and Makati Hotels.
